Waste screening for SRF / RDF
Waste screening for SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel)/RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel)

High productivity and separation quality
Ecostar machines for the separation of non-hazardous and special non-hazardous municipal waste are developed to ensure faster, more sustainable and effective screening in less space. This makes it possible to make the RDF (Refuse-derived Fuel) production process more streamlined and efficient, with consequent cost savings and increased profits for the RDF industry.
The importance of the screening process to produce Refuse-Derived Fuel
Screening or separation is essential in the processing of waste to obtain SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) or RDF (Refuse-Derived Fuel). To obtain a high quality separation and clean material, whether it is old or fresh waste, it is necessary to use a two or three fraction technology, like the Dynamic Disc Screening, that can accurately select the materials without shredding them. Only in this way is it possible to really enhance and take advantage of waste, preventing unwanted components, such as sand and dirt, from ending up in the fine fraction. The material that in the end will become Solid Recovered Fuel is of high quality, thanks to the patented DDS technology that reduces to a minimum the twisting of the materials and the clogging of the screen, ensuring higher machine uptime and reduced maintenance costs.
The advantages of Ecostar solutions for Solid Recovered Fuel
Thanks to their flexibility and compactness, Ecostar screening solutions can work directly in landfills, or in recycling plants whether as part of a new or an already operational line. The efficiency of Dynamic Disc Screening technology enables the use of 7.5 kW electric motors, thus minimizing energy consumption while maintaining a high productivity of up to 60 T/H capable of separating the material in fractions from 10mm to 100 mm.
The best technology in screening waste for SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) / RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel)
DDS (Dynamic Disc Screening) is Ecostar’s patented technology for waste intended for SRFs / RDFs, screening of non-hazardous municipal waste and screening of non-hazardous special waste. Thanks to DDS, even if the waste processed involves large quantities, the risk of materials wrapping around the shafts is minimized.
