Screening of incinerator ash

High yields and separation accuracy in metal recovery from incineration bottom ash

The use of Ecostar’s dynamic disc screen ensures maximum accuracy in the separation of ferrous and non-ferrous metals from incinerator bottom ash (IBAs). Ecostar discs are made of Hardox, an ultra-resistant material particularly suitable for screening very heavy ferrous materials and grant a successful metals recovery from bottom ash. Thanks to the high-quality components with which the Ecostar screens are made, and to the patented Dynamic Disc Screening technology it is possible to reach high production capacities even in small spaces with minimum maintenance and cleaning time of the screen.

The importance of the screening process in the process of metal recovery from IBAs

The pre-processing phase is essential to recover ferrous and non-ferrous metals from IBAs (incinerator bottom ash). As the initial material is particularly not homogeneous and composed of aggregates, incinerator bottom ash and metals, to obtain a very clean final material and thus increase its value, a high quality of screening and separation is essential.
What makes the difference in the quality of the screening and separation process to recover metals from bottom ash is the use of a two or three fraction screen which is capable of processing large quantities of material. And yet, with Ecostar large quantities do not translate into high energy consumption: the efficiency of our solutions for this sector guarantees maximum sustainability and a net reduction in energy consumption.

The advantages of Ecostar solutions for the Metal recovery from incineration bottom ash

In the case of incinerator bottom ash waste, Ecostar technology does not require a cleaning phase. Low energy consumption (with savings of up to 70% compared to traditional systems) combined with the flexibility of our mobile system, whether diesel or electric, make Ecostar screens the best solution for any operating condition. Finally, the production capacity of Ecostar screens can reach up to 100 T/H.

The best technology for screening incinerator ash

DDS (Dynamic Disc Screening) is Ecostar’s patented technology particularly efficient for incinerator ash waste. With Ecostar dynamic screens, thanks to the patented discs, the material flows over the discs and the separation of the two fractions is optimized, with a consequent increase in the screening quality.
